Chevonne Harris
Bio:
Chevonne Harris is a lover of all things pop culture and Oprah. She is an unapologetic subscriber to the book of Beyonce and specializes in strategic communication and brand management. She’s currently the Communication Consultant for PMM Agency and creator of AdoreColour.com, a digital destination celebrating the vibrancy, flair and overall awesomeness of women of color everywhere.
At PMM Chevonne leads and supports the media relations, interactive and digital media and marketing, creating results-driven strategies for Fortune 100 companies, national influencers, non-profit and government/private sector entities. Chevonne also leads PMM’s talent management, specializing in talent procurement and contract negotiations. In her role with creative development, Chevonne works with the PMM team of designers, web masters and techies to create channels of viral communication and real-time engagement across various social media platforms.
Prior to joining PMM, Chevonne served at the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus where she worked in media relations and communications. A vested public servant, from 2009–2010 Chevonne had the distinct honor and privilege to serve in the United States White House Executive Office of the Vice President, Office of Correspondence under Vice President Joe Biden. Here she crafted official correspondence on behalf of the Vice President of the United States, organized inbound and outbound constituent communications and also assisted in maintaining the Vice President’s schedule.
A trained and respected professional, Chevonne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Toledo and Master’s of Science degree in Journalism from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism. She also received certification in Media Management Sequence from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Chevonne is a graduate of the YWCA Chase Gen Y Leadership Academy, a highly competitive professional development academy. She is also a graduate of the Ray Miller Progressive Leadership Academy where she received firsthand guidance and mentorship on the importance of community leadership. Chevonne is also a member of the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals and the Young Professionals of Columbus where she serves as the board as the PR and Development chair.
A lover of the written word and a consumer of all things digital, in 2013 Chevonne created AdoreColour.com. With the tagline, “We Simply Adore Colour!” the blog high lights the many facets of black women offering fresh, witty and creative content in the areas of love, entertainment, culture, news and business. Chevonne is also a published writer whose work has appeared nationally in EBONY magazine, Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, Jezebel.com and others. She’s a proud two-time winner of Monopoly and firmly believes life would be much better if lived to “Songs in the Key of Life.”
