1. What do you do and where do you do it?
I’m currently an apparel Graphic designer for J America’s Team Licensed Group, a freelance sports branding and identity designer, and founder of Sportsfonts, the first font foundry dedicated to sports design.
2. Who/What are your biggest influences?
My biggest branding design influences are Eric Rickabaugh, Joe Bosack, Todd Radom, and Dan Simon among others. In life in general, I would have to say Muhammad Ali, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Bruce Lee, Jim Brown, and Magic Johnson.
3. What does the term Creative Control mean to you?
To me, Creative Control means to have earned the trust and respect of your clients, peers, etc. for your unique vision, perspective, personality, work ethic and skillset. There’s a sense of empowerment and responsibility in knowing that your creative opinions are not only valued, but relied upon in order to make progress.
