11 Sep CCF Creative Spotlight: Keturah Bobo
1. What do you do and where do you do it?
I am a visual artist, which for me encompasses: painting, drawing, illustration, digital media, clothing design, branding, and murals. I also teach art to children and I am very excited about a community art project that should be finished by the end of the year :).
l work out of my art studio Ariel Brands in Columbus, Ohio.
2. Who/What are your biggest influences?
I am inspired by my friends and family the most, I really have a great group of people who believe in me and are very secure and talented themselves. My biggest artists inspirations would be Wangechi Mutu and Shepard Fairey.
3. What does the term Creative Control mean to you?
Creativity cannot be contained, but we as creative beings have the ability to do what we want with it. We have the control. I think sometimes as artists we are overlooked and not given as much credit as we should be given. People take for granted that artists/designers have the ability to control each and every man made visual aesthetic and there’s so much power in that.
